Winter Study by Nevada Barr
I got this book because it takes place in Michigan and I read some positive reviews.
I didn’t read more than 10 pages. I just couldnt’ get into it and I didn’t like her writing style.

I’ve tried to read this twice. This time, I tried listening to it. I still don’t like it and didn’t want to finish it. It was just borning and my only thought was “Who cares?”
I tried to read this book. I got about 120 pages into it and decided I couldn’t finish. There are those who think it’s funny and clever, but I thought it was silly.
This is the 2nd time I’ve tried to read Piers Anthony. I guess he just isn’t for me.
I read the first of these books and thought I wouldn’t get another. Then I saw this at the library and thought I’d try it.
There are so many reasons why I want to like these books. Among them is the fact that there are gay characters, one of whom has HIV. It’s handled so matter of factly but I just can’t finish it. Too bad.
I’m a *huge* Alice Hoffman fan. I have enjoyed every one of her books that I’ve read until today. I didn’t even finish this one. I couldn’t get that interested in the characters and the writing seemed a little too “Grease” for me. Well, Grease meets Gang Violence (Can’t think of a good gang violence movie involving teenagers in the 50s, which is when I presume this was supposed to be set.
I’d already tried to read this once, it turns out. I didn’t finish it then, either. The plotline seemd so interesting but it isn’t well written. More’s the pity.
That date is in parenthesis because I began this book but couldn’t read much. It totally sucked. This had the potential to be so cool but it just wasn’t.
