You Have the Right to Remain Puzzled by Parnell Hall 11/02/07

Today I have been feeling pitiful. The earlier headache left me drained and out of sorts. At lunch, I went to Barnes & Nobles and bought three books. The first of them was this one. Friday nights I have a long standing tradition of coming home, having peace and quiet and doing whatever I want - read, watch TV, whatever. Tonight it was read. So I finished up the Tucker Malarkey book and moved on to this one.

So this book was a quick read. The Puzzle Lady is Cora, or at least she pretends to be the woman who creates the crossword puzzles for the local newspaper. It’s really her niece, Sherry, and since this isn’t the first book, I have no idea why Cora gets all the credit.

Cora is hilarious. She’s recently stopped drinking, she hates crosswords, is confusing to all who know her. She’s also framed for murder. It’s interesting how it happens because it would appear, at first glance, as if it could only be her. But it isn’t, of course.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like these but I do, so chances are good I’ll be getting more of them.
