Undead and Unpopular by MaryJanice Davidson 09/29/07

Betsy is having a few problems this go round.  One is that she has unwanted guests: a retinue from Europe who are basically being rude.  They’ve waited far too long to acknowledge her as queen and then it turns out that one of them “turned” one of Betsy’s friends.  The friend, Sophie, wants him punished.  It’s dicey.  Add to the mix that Jessica turns out to have cancer and doesn’t want to be a vampire, which would cure her. Now, there’s troubles.

Light and fun, not deep in the slightest.

Undead and Unreturnable by MaryJanice Davidson 09/09/07

Okay, the adventure continues.

In this, book the 4th, (why am I doing that?) QB continues her saga with Laura, who may not be who she appears to be.

QB read The Book of the Dead too long and goes all Evil Vampire on her best friends, Jess and Marc, as well as Tina, the long time friend of Sinclair, QB’s fiancee.

This book was so funny at times, that I laughed right out loud.

One advantage to the 5 freaking hours I spent with my dad … my sister has a library card to the town where he lives which has an excellent library. I wish I could tell you all the books I got but I forgot to write them down.

I did get this one, though  book the 3rd in the Queen Betsy series.

This is the book in which QB finds out that her evil stepmother really was, in fact, evil. Well, not so much *her* as that she had been possessed by the devil and bore the devils’ child, Laura.  Ant, as QB calls her stepmom (short for Antonia), gave the child up for adoption.  Well, not so much that as abandoned her on the doorstep of a hospital. The father is QB’s father, Ant is the bio mom, but the child is definitely Satan’s child.

In this book, Satan is a woman who looks like a librarian or something.

QB meets and befriends Laura who appears to be a sweet, Christian girl.

Book 3 in the Queen Betsy series.  Okay, I have to be honest, these books are silly.  They are silly but fun.  And funny.  It’s basically Vampire Chick Lit.  So, QB needs to get a job and winds up working at Macy’s. She has to deal with humans who are killing off vampires and also the ghost of a 5 year old girl.  According to vampire law, if she kills someone she gets all their stuff so wehn, at the end, QB kills Monique, she gets her cool car and her nightclub, among other things.
